Each year, Point Loma Nazarene University publishes a scholarship report that recognizes the notable achievements of its arts and humanities faculty. I, along with five other students, worked within a preexisting publication system and assigned chapter to create the 2018 Scholarship Report.

 

I was tasked with sourcing imagery, editing copy, and designing layouts for the first chapter as well as assisting on the final editing process.

 

As a group, we applied paragraph and character styles and created harmonious layout flow within and between chapters. This task required collaboration and flexibility  to problem solve for overall systematic unity while still leaving space for variation and surprise.

 

This project required an in-depth understanding of the established design system and its functions as well as the skills needed to successfully implement new imagery and body copy.
